The Nostalgica Museum will promote a 'Gaming Experience' at the Cascais and Estoril Parish Council building. On February 24th and 25th, families are invited to discover the universe of video games, from the 1970s to the present day. Admission is free.

"Understanding the history of video games is recognizing that they reflect the culture, technology, means, and social values of each era. It is through playing that we often learn the dynamics of relationships, the concepts of mutual assistance, and the exercise of skills such as speed, coordination, concentration, and reasoning," reads a statement from the Parish Council, which supports this event promoted by the Nostalgica Museum.

Temporarily closed for renovations at the ACT Hub - Oeiras Creative Industries Center, Nostalgica is the only museum in Portugal dedicated to video games. In addition to promoting various itinerant events, you can learn more about the project at The Hood, in the Ubbo Shopping Center, where you'll find the Tokyo Arcade Experience, a Japanese gaming lounge.

In addition to historic consoles, you will find classic arcade machines, virtual reality units, and the latest in gaming consoles and computers.

A Cosplay Contest is also planned for this special weekend. Participants will be challenged to dress up and act as their favorite video game characters. And, attention, there are prizes for the top three cosplayers, so it's best to start putting your creativity to work.

Rua de Santa Rita, 45 (Estoril). Feb 24-25, Sat-Sun 10:00 AM-8:00 PM. Free admission.
