Collaborative dinners are becoming increasingly popular, but this Sunday, March 16th, Sult is taking it a step further: to celebrate its first anniversary in Cascais, the restaurant will host a 12-handed meal. Brazilian chef Nelson Soares has invited five chefs – and friends – to join him in blowing out the candles, offering a special menu served throughout the day.

Between 1pm and midnight, Paulo Alves from Praia no Parque, Diogo Gonzaga from Sublime Comporta, Miguel Laffan from Intemporal, Pedro Binotti from Irú Omakase, and Tomaz Salema from Salta will team up with Soares to mark the first year of the Italian restaurant in Portugal. And since no celebration is complete without music, lunch and dinner will be served to the sound of DJ Victor Sias spinning vinyl.

For those booking a table and opting for the special snack menu (à la carte options will also be available), the feast will begin with hamachi sashimi, caviar, and herb oil by Paulo Alves, followed by braised wagyu taco with dijonnaise and fried capers from Diogo Gonzaga. The party continues with crispy potato, tuna belly, and egg yolk by Miguel Laffan (who has just opened a new restaurant in Paço de Arcos), duck croquette with umeboshi sauce by Tomaz Salema, and mackerel nigiri by Pedro Binotti. The final touch will come from Nelson Soares, with his signature brioche, soft shell crab, green sauce, and pickles.

To drink, there will be wines from Tubarão (Minho), Textura (Dão), and Haja Cortezia (Colares). The menu costs €60 per person, including two glasses of wine.

In total, Sult is celebrating its six-year anniversary: it first opened in Rio de Janeiro in 2019, quickly establishing itself in the trendy Botafogo neighbourhood. Located on a street parallel to the renowned Arnaldo Quintela, which was named one of the world’s 10 coolest streets by Time Out, it’s also featured on the 50 Best Discovery list and the Louis Vuitton City Guide. The restaurant arrived in the heart of Cascais, just steps from the Bay, in March 2024, bringing with it its star dish – the Sult lasagna – and popular desserts from Brazil, including pistachio tiramisù, chocolate and hazelnut praline cake, lemon and basil roll, and ricotta and strawberry roll with balsamic vinegar.

Rua das Flores, 10A, Cascais. Sunday 1pm – midnight. €60. Reservations: 91 054 9593
