There’s a new name on the Portuguese festival circuit: Cascais Atlantic Sunsets. Kicking off its debut edition this August with two open-air dates – on the 2nd and the 16th – the event promises golden-hour parties in some of the most unexpected and iconic locations across the Cascais region.

First up on the line-up are Jungle, the London-based duo known for their electrifying live shows and crowd-lifting grooves. Having graced stages at Coachella, Glastonbury and closer to home at NOS Alive, Paredes de Coura and Kalorama, the pair will bring their DJ set to the dramatic seaside setting of Forte de Santo António da Barra in São João do Estoril on August 16th.

Organised by Gigs On Mars with support from Turismo de Cascais, the festival aims to fuse internationally renowned names with some of Portugal’s most influential electronic artists, all in rarely-used, atmospheric locations around the region. “A line-up that brings together global heavyweights and national trailblazers, in venues not typically used for events in the area,” reads a statement from the organisers released on Wednesday.

Cascais Atlantic Sunsets promises to blend “local talent” with “big names from the global electronic scene”, offering a mix of rising stars and international heavy-hitters. More artists – along with details of the second unique venue – are set to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Tickets are on sale from this Wednesday, with a special early bird price of €25.
