Portugal and Italy are meeting at Casa das Histórias - Paula Rego. Between June 1st and 9th, the CINEMAITALIA exhibition promises the best of Italian cinema, featuring classics and new releases. The event is free, subject to room capacity.
In the Retrospective category, the screening of "Por um Destino Insólito" (Sat, June 1st, 5:00 PM), "O Gato" (Sun, June 2nd, 5:00 PM), "Amor e Anarquia" (Tue, June 4th, 7:30 PM), "Irmão Sol, Irmã Lua" (Sat, June 8th, 5:00 PM), and "Mimi e o Metalúrgico" (Sun, June 9th, 5:00 PM) is already confirmed. From the New Italian Cinema, you can watch "Primadonna" (Sat, June 1st, 7:30 PM), "As Minhas Meninas de Papel" (Sun, June 2nd, 7:30 PM), "Amadas Margens" (Mon, June 3rd, 7:30 PM), "A Última Noite em Milão" (Wed, June 5th, 7:30 PM), "Zamora" (Thu, June 6th, 7:30 PM), "Dante" (Fri, June 7th, 5:00 PM), "A Quimera" (Fri, June 7th, 7:30 PM), and "O Equívoco" (Sun, June 9th, 7:30 PM) are scheduled. Some more films are yet to be confirmed to complete the program.
This initiative, organised by Italy's Esperimentacultura, brings together Cascais Town Hall, the D. Luís Foundation and the Italian Tourism Institute. All the films will be subtitled in Portuguese and English: not being able to speak Italian is no excuse for anyone. Find out more here.
