"Nozes de Cascais" are one of the most iconic regional sweets of the village. First sold around the 1950s, these treats are said to have conventual origins - often linked to the former Convent of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, built in the 16th century and now home to the Cascais Cultural Centre.
To learn how to make these little treats, all you have to do is go to Mercado da Vila: Cascais Food Lab has organised a workshop dedicated to these sweets for January 17th. The workshop includes a demonstration of the recipe and a tasting accompanied by Carcavelos wine. Participation is free and the event starts at 5pm.
January brings more foodie fun to Mercado da Vila with two additional showcooking events. On January 15th, discover the versatility of onions, and on January 22nd, it’s all about tuna. All activities are free to attend, so come hungry and curious!
