Between the 7th and 13th of June, Cascais celebrates Semana do Município with a series of free activities across various locations, marking the 660th anniversary since King Pedro I elevated the town to the status of a municipality.
The complete programme can be found on the council's website and includes concerts by Toy and Quim Barreiros, surf and yoga classes, DJ sets, street parties, showcooking sessions and the inauguration of the travelling exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of the portuguese revolution.
There will also be walks, fitness sessions, nature activities and the Popular Marches of Cascais. Another highlight is a theatrical tour of the Vila Museum and the King D. Carlos Sea Museum, dramatized by students from the Cascais Professional Theatre School, which traces the history of the municipality. The tour concludes with a dance at the Clube da Parada.
All events are free of charge.
