The Sheraton Cascais Resort is preparing to kick off its Christmas celebrations with an open-air screening of what has already become one of the season's classics. The hotel in Quinta da Marinha, in partnership with Cine Society (which has been organising open-air cinema cycles in various locations in Greater Lisbon, since 2017), will be showing Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001), the first of J.K. Rowling's literary saga to hit cinemas.
The screening is scheduled for 16 December, starting at 5pm, in the hotel’s gardens. This is the film in which little Harry Potter discovers a whole magical world and realises that he is special, a wizard, and enters the Hogwarts Wizarding School and makes friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
Tickets to see the film at the Sheraton Cascais Resort cost €13.90 and can be purchased online. There, you can also buy buckets of popcorn, drinks, gummy bears or crisps. The hotel advises spectators to bring warm clothes.
