Cooljazz has just announced another headliner for its next edition as the festival celebrates its 20th anniversary. Chaka Khan will make her debut at the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo in Cascais on the 10th of July.
A beacon of funk, soul, and R&B music, the American artist Chaka Khan began her career in the 70s with the band Rufus. She would go on to become more widely known as a solo artist, thanks to singles like "I’m Every Woman," "Ain’t Nobody," and "Tell Me Something Good." Over her extensive career, she has had notable collaborations with Ray Charles and Prince. She brings to Cascais a tour celebrating her 50 years in music.
Cooljazz had already confirmed performances from artists such as Jamie Cullum, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Diana Krall, AIR, Dino D’Santiago, Marina Sena, and Luedji Luna. In total, there will be three concerts per night: the Cascais Jazz Sessions by Smooth FM, followed by two main stage performances.
Tickets for Chaka Khan's date range from €30 to €75. They will go on sale this Friday, the 9th of February, starting at 10 am.
