Coala Festival has just announced another name for its second edition in Portugal. António Zambujo is the latest addition to the festival’s line-up, set to take over Hipódromo Manuel Possolo in Cascais on May 31st and June 1st. The Portuguese musician will take the stage on the opening day.
António Zambujo will bring a special performance to Coala, joined by the Cantadores do Rancho da Aldeia Nova de São Bento, showcasing the deep roots of cante alentejano — the rich cultural and musical tradition that served as a foundation for his later explorations of more contemporary sounds, blending elements of fado and Brazilian music. Last year, Zambujo released Prenda Minha, an album in collaboration with Brazilian guitarist Yamandu Costa.
The Coala Festival line-up already features artists such as Ney Matogrosso, Liniker, Xande de Pilares (paying tribute to Caetano Veloso), Djodje, Lena d’Água, Timbalada + Afrocidade, and Ana Lua Caiano.
General passes are priced at €100, while VIP passes are available for €200.
