With concerts by Fat Freddy’s Drop on Tuesday and Jamie Cullum on Wednesday, the Ageas Cooljazz festival concluded its 20th-anniversary edition this week. According to the organisers, the Manuel Possolo Hippodrome and Parque Marechal Carmona in Cascais welcomed a total of 45,000 people over the several days of concerts.

Artists such as Air (whose interview with Time Out can be read here), Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Morcheeba, Dino D’Santiago (whom we also interviewed here), MARO, Marina Sena, and Luedji Luna were among the highlights. This edition also featured many other national musicians and, for the first time, DJ sets from the Late Nights programme, extending the celebration beyond the main concerts.

“Ending the 20th-anniversary edition is an indescribable emotion”, says Karla Campos, director of the festival's promoter. “The feedback is very positive; more than ever, we feel that the public values the festival’s mission and identity. It was a year of musical premieres, an expanded lineup, new partners—everything to continue providing audiences with unique and special nights. After 20 years, Ageas Cooljazz remains the festival that offers an exceptional lineup along with consumer comfort, and I couldn’t be more satisfied”, she concluded in this year's farewell.

The Ageas Cooljazz will return to Cascais in 2025, confirmed Campos, sometime between 1st and 31st July 2025.
