Right in the heart of the Cascais Marina, Four Adventures is the perfect partner for this type of adventure. There are four tours available, but the chosen one is the South Route, the only one that guarantees sightings of these adorable mammals, considered some of the most intelligent animals in the world. Ready for this experience?

The day before

It’s natural for anxiety to make an appearance, but there’s nothing to worry about. The online pages are filled only with images and videos of people with smiles on their faces, making the most of their experience after leaving their nerves on shore.

Now it's time to get on board

The sun is shining, and the day was well chosen, though not by chance. At Four Adventures, which has been around for just over a year, every detail is carefully considered to ensure the best experience. You board the boat cautiously, adding a fluorescent life jacket to your outfit to ensure that if the urge to take a dip arises, safety comes first.

The journey begins with calm winds and a gentle sea—good news for those who aren’t fans of too much adrenaline. A few miles off the coast, we slow down and spot the first group of dolphins. The collective "woooow" is immediate, surprising no one—after all, they aren’t called the most majestic of the sea for nothing. They swim close to the boat, leaping as if putting on a real show for about ten minutes. Some even come closer when the phones start coming out of pockets, almost as if they’re posing for pictures.

But the journey doesn't end there. Just a few metres ahead, we encounter another group of dolphins that accompany us for a while. However, the real jackpot comes when a pod of over 100 dolphins keeps everyone on the boat entertained for at least half an hour. After watching all their interactions, jumps, and spins, it’s time to head back to the Marina.

The return trip is an experience in itself. At this stage of the journey, with no stops until we dock, there’s an opportunity to enjoy the views from a completely new perspective. From one end of the coast to the other, you can see unique landscapes of Cascais from the sea, with only the sound of the ocean as the soundtrack.

Upon arrival, smiles stretch from ear to ear, and the promise is to return.
