The Galileo Open Air Cinema returns to Cape Town for the summer this week, offering an extended season of silver-screen blockbusters enjoyed beneath the stars at venues across Cape Town and the Winelands.

This is the 13th season for the Galileo Open Air Cinema, which has thrilled locals and tourists with their roster of al fresco film experiences. As usual punters can look forward to a jam-packed schedule of action, comedy, romance, drama and family-friendly classics. Also look out for special shows lined up for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter.

And this year Galileo is spreading its wings even more than before, with five new venues to keep movie buffs entertained.

Loyal fans will be delighted to hear that The Galileo returns to Kirstenbosch Gardens, Central Park in Century City, Blaauwklippen, Lourensford, Nooitgedacht, Leopard’s Leap, Glenelly and other select wine estates in Paarl, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Kuilsriver. But there are also new venues to look out for, as the screen pops up in Noordhoek, Wellington, Cape Town, Stellenbosch, and Paarl to offer a fresh twist to the open-air cinema experience.
