As European airlines load up their schedule for Cape Town’s summer season, the 'Mother City' will welcome a brand-new airline this October as Norse Atlantic brings its low-cost long-haul fares to South Africa for the first time.

Operating out of London Gatwick, Norse Atlantic will operate three flights per week into Cape Town, its first destination in Africa.

The new route takes off on October 28, 2024, with outbound flights departing Cape Town (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday) at 11.45am and arriving at London Gatwick at 9.35pm the same day. Return flights (Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday) leave London Gatwick at 8pm to land in Cape Town at 9.30am the following morning

And there’s more good news, with Norse Atlantic launching its September Sale today.

While return flights from Cape Town to London were due to start from £499 return in Economy, on-sale fares have seen that price slashed to just £322 – around R7550 – when you purchase an Economy Light fare for selected dates.

At the time of writing those fares were available for selected dates from October onwards, but are sure to sell out fast. Also remember that Economy Light fares come without meals or checked luggage, but for all new bookings with Norse Atlantic it does now include a 10kg carry-on bag, in addition to one personal under-seat item.

Norse Atlantic operates a fleet of modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with a choice of two cabins on board: Economy and Norse Premium. Passengers can also choose from a range of fares, including Light, Classic and Flextra, with varying amounts of baggage allowance, meal service and ticket flexibility.

Have you heard? Virgin Atlantic has extended its Cape Town season!
