Radisson brand debuts in Cape Town

There’s a new (but established) kid on the hotel block down on Cape Town’s Foreshore, as the former Park Inn gets a fresh look and a rebrand.

If you’re sitting on the terrace of Harald’s Rooftop Bar, admiring the panoramic views of the city skyline and Table Mountain, you might not think that much had changed. Attentive staff, check. City views, check. Stylish vibes, check.

But a few floors below, the rooms and public spaces of the former Park Inn Cape Town Foreshore have been transformed.

It’s all thanks to a comprehensive refurb over the past eight months that has seen a roof-to-basement refresh of the hotel, bringing the first Radisson-branded hotel in the city. Now known as the Radisson Hotel Cape Town Foreshore, it is the third Radisson property in South Africa, alongside the Radisson Blu and RED brands.

The new look and feel is evident from the moment you arrive, with a refreshed lobby space that spills onto the wide city boulevard beyond. Upstairs in the 120 refurbished rooms you’ll find Radisson’s signature aesthetic: it’s contemporary and globally predictable in a way that's comforting for frequent travellers... all of which makes it a good fit for one of the best business-focused locations in the city. Right across the road, you’ll find a number of corporate headquarters, while the Cape Town International Convention Centre is just a few minutes’ walk away.

Staying in? Guests enjoy secure indoor parking, and complimentary access to a state-of-the-art gym. The hotel is also now home to South Africa's first ‘Filini’ restaurant, an Italian-inspired dining concept first launched at Radisson RED London Heathrow airport.

But honestly, it’s Harald’s Rooftop Bar & Terrace that still steals the show. Up on the 11th floor, this stylish bar and restaurant offers tables indoors and al fresco, and you’ll want to book ahead for a seat out on the terrace. Alongside a collection of craft beers and Cape wines, look forward to a laid-back menu of bistro-style plates, all served up with a side order of city views.
