With a winning combo of superb cocktails, contemporary sushi and a wide selection of small plates and grills, NIKKEI has fast become one of the most popular restaurants on Bree Street. And while you’ll already struggle to get a Friday night table, the chefs are ramping up the offering for Spring and Summer with a sizzling set menu of inspired plates.

NIKKEI is named for the style of cuisine on offer: Nikkei is a unique fusion of Japanese and Peruvian culinary traditions. On the menu that means a heady mix of flavours and textures, cooking styles and serving plates. Spread across two levels NIKKEI is a thoroughly glamorous set-up, with both banquette seating and booths set beneath a riot of natural greenery.

The new Spring/Summer 'Omakase' set menu at NIKKEI is priced at R599 per person. It offers eight plates ranging from crispy squid and togarashi, and edamame beans with flaked salt, before moving on to tiradito crudo with yuzu dressing, and seared sesame tuna. A drinks pairing of premium wines and imported sake is available for an additional R550 per person.

You can also elevate the experience with the Gold Set Menu: at R1000 per person, it’s a nine-course journey that includes plates such as Wagyu tataki, lobster tail and yellowtail hamachi. Likewise, the drinks pairing of wine and sake can be included for an extra R700 per person.

It’s the perfect location for turning First Thursdays into a special culinary and cultural event, so get your booking in early for October 3!
