Proflight Zambia has announced a brand-new route into Cape Town, linking the Mother City to Livingstone, Zambia.

Lusaka-based Proflight Zambia is no stranger to the city, having operated direct flights between Lusaka and Cape Town since July 2023. The airline also flies direct between Lusaka and Johannesburg, and Lusaka and Durban.

‘Cape Town is a destination that resonates with our passengers, and the success of this route underscores our dedication to enhancing regional connectivity,’ said Captain Josias Walubita, Proflight’s Director of Flight Operations.

And now the success of the Lusaka route has prompted the airline to launch flights from Cape Town to Livingstone, a popular option for travellers looking to admire the Victoria Falls and soak up the watery adventures on the Zambezi.

The new route launches on December 1, 2024, with two flights per week operating on Thursdays and Sundays. The route will be operated with a 50-seat Bombardier CRJ-200. Flight PO0050 from Livingstone departs at 8.10 am and arrives in Cape Town at 11.10 am. Flight PO0051 departs Cape Town at 12 pm, arriving in Livingstone at 2.50 pm.

In the peak holiday season, Proflight Zambia will lay on a third weekly flight, with Saturday flights set to operate on December 7, 14, 21, 28 and January 4. The Saturday flights will depart Livingstone at 8.10 am and arrive in Cape Town at 11.10 am.

The return leg then departs Cape Town at 12.15 pm and arrives in Livingstone at 3.05 pm

'Our timing is specifically designed around the tourism experience,' says Walubita. 'Passengers can leave Cape Town after breakfast and be at Victoria Falls in time for an afternoon sunset cruise. The morning departure from Livingstone also means Capetonians can be back at their desks before lunch.'

KLM has also added more flights to Cape Town!
