Cape Town is in for a musical treat next year as Grammy-winning singer-songwriter James Bay brings his soulful melodies to South Africa for the first time ever.

Presented by Breakout Events, the highly anticipated tour will see Bay perform at the world-famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Upcountry fans come next, with a performance at Johannesburg’s Marks Park in Emmarentia on Saturday, March 29.

Bay is known for his signature blend of folk, rock, and pop, and his string of hits includes ‘Let It Go’ and ‘Hold Back the River’. Bay’s new tour is in support of his latest album, 'Changes All The Time', which he describes as his most personal and confident work yet.

Speaking about performing live, Bay shared his excitement about taking the stage in South Africa: ‘I’m trying to relax in my skin more and more onstage. You get one go at it every night live. I want to blow someone away. I want to impress them. That’s the best thing in the world.’

Since breaking onto the music scene with his 2015 debut album ‘Chaos and the Calm’ –which topped the UK charts – Bay has garnered global acclaim. His career highlights include sharing stages with legends like The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen, as well as performing at Madison Square Garden and Fenway Park.

For South African fans, this is a rare opportunity to see Bay up close in two of the country’s most scenic outdoor venues. The shows will feature a mix of fresh tracks from his new album and fan favourites, promising an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling.

Tickets, from R895, are available via Webtickets.
