Hot on the heels of being named Best City in the World for 2025, there’s another feather in Cape Town’s tourism cap, with the opening of South Africa's first-ever 'Canopy by Hilton' hotel!

Canopy by Hilton Cape Town Longkloof is located on Park Road, just a few steps from the buzzy restaurants, bars, and boutiques of Kloof Street, which Time Out ranked as one of the 33 coolest streets in the world in 2022!

We still love the likes of Our Local, ëlgr, and Yours Truly as much as we did back then, but the addition of a brand-new hotel brand is sure to give Kloof an added edge of cool as we head into 2025.

Unless you’ve seen one overseas, you’ll probably be new to the Canopy by Hilton brand, but we think it’s a perfect fit for the Mother City.

Canopy by Hilton is all about creating an upscale but uncomplicated hotel experience, in a relaxed yet stylish space that draws heavily on the surrounding neighbourhood. A perfect example is the theme of the various floors: fynbos-inspired artworks on the first two floors, an ocean theme for the third, and a tribute to the Bo-Kaap on the fourth. It’s all about tapping into local culture and design through décor and experience, and you can expect to mingle with adventurous-minded travellers with an eye for trends.

Canopy by Hilton Cape Town Longkloof opens with 154 rooms and suites, and we love the wide range of categories on offer.

If budget’s no worry, opt for the spacious King Premium Suite with glorious mountain views. There are Family Connecting rooms for multi-gen travellers needing a bit of extra space, or four-sleeper Queen Bed rooms that cater for family and friends happy to share. King Rooms are the Goldilocks option for solo travellers and couples, but across the categories, you can look forward to bright contemporary décor with bold colours and all the mod-cons you could ask for.

There’s a fitness centre on-site, and a signature restaurant serving up imaginative takes on local cuisine. But, with one of the world’s coolest streets right on the doorstep, we suggest you rather head out and explore.
