There are no tricks, but expect plenty of treats this Halloween, with The Galileo Open Air Cinema rolling out the silver screen for a spine-tingling evening of spooky delights beneath the glow of an eerie moon. Expect the movies to start rolling after sunset, allowing plenty of time to tuck into the food stalls and bars that surround the movie lawns.

The heart of the horror will be the marquee lawn at Kirstenbosch Gardens, where Jack Nicholson stars in the madcap retelling of Stephen King’s horror masterpiece, ‘The Shining’.

Deserted hotels and a caretaker slowly losing his mind set the scene for a blood-curdling night out. As you might have guessed, it’s certainly not a kid-friendly event.

Happily, Friday evening sees the spooktacular Kids Halloween Show kick off at Central Park, Century City, with more family-friendly thrills to be had with a screening of the PG-rated movie Hotel Transylvania.

Here Count Dracula and his monstrous guests offer a more heartwarming and humour-filled animated adventure suited for all ages.

Come dressed to dazzle or frighten... there are prizes on offer for the Best Dressed ghouls and goblins!

Ticket prices range from R150 to R275 per person.  For the complete movie schedule and to book your seat beneath the stars, visit www.thegalileo.co.za/movies.
