FlySafair had their big sale this past Thursday. We know these types of sales are often difficult to capitalise on, but we hope you managed to grab a ticket.

Here's what went down on Thursday:

Planning your 2025 travels? If you know where you want to go, and when, today’s the day to book if you want to take advantage of a big juicy 30 percent discount on local flights.

That’s because today – January 16, 2025 – is the day for FlySafair’s New Year sale. It’s on for 24 hours only, ending at midnight, and offers up to 30% off all domestic flights to FlySafair’s nine domestic destinations, including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Mbombela and Gqeberha.

‘We want to start the new year on a high note by demonstrating our commitment to making travel accessible and affordable,’ says Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair. ‘The sale offers budget-conscious customers the chance to secure amazing deals on flights well in advance… we want to make more South Africans’ travel dreams a reality in 2025.’

The sale is valid for flights taking off from today until October 25, 2025, and is applicable to all domestic flights on the FlySafair network. Regional flights are not included. Discounted tickets can only booked directly on the FlySafair website or the FlySafair app, and are – surprise, surprise – subject to availability. Previous sales have seen huge interest and seats selling out fast, especially over the public holidays and long weekends in March and April. Also remember that the 30% discount will be applied to the nett airfare before any airport taxes or extras are added to the booking. Airport taxes, VAT and any additional extras are not discounted.

‘We suggest before logging on, to have all your dates and destinations confirmed to make searching for flights easier,” says Gordon. ‘Customers can also create a profile on the website beforehand where their personal and credit card details can be securely stored so that the booking and purchasing processes are quicker on the day.’
