It’s no mystery why the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa - Zeitz MOCAA – is one of the most popular destinations in Cape Town. Beyond the striking architecture, this world-class art museum plays host to a remarkable collection of art from across Africa and the diaspora. Across permanent collections and rotating exhibitions, guests can expect to be confronted by the remarkable diversity of African creativity.

But, for many people it isn’t cheap: tickets cost R250 per person, which can quickly add up if you’re taking the family for an afternoon of arts and culture.

Happily, for July and August Zeitz MOCAA is making things more affordable, with a winter promotion dubbed ‘Art in the Afternoon’ that is available to both locals and tourists.

For a reduced ticket price of R190 – that’s a 24% saving – visitors to the gallery can arrive from 3 pm and stay until the doors close at 6 pm. The last entry is at 5.30 pm. These discounted tickets are available any day of the week from 3 pm, but ticket sales for ‘Art in the Afternoon’ are only available on-site at Zeitz MOCAA, on the day of your visit. No online or advance bookings are allowed.

Also don’t forget that African citizens enjoy free entry to Zeitz MOCAA on ‘Africa Wednesdays’. Arrive on a Wednesday between 10 am and 1 pm, and bring along a valid ID/Passport.

Art given you an appetite? Zeitz MOCAA is just a short walk from the Time Out Market Cape Town!
