Whether you're a committed road warrior or just getting from the couch to that 5K, the Absa Run Your City series is a fine reason to lace up your running shoes as this popular road race comes back to the Mother City on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
The Absa Run Your City series takes place in five cities across South Africa, but of course, it's Cape Town – now in its 10th year! – that wins hands-down when it comes to scenic views while you sweat it out.
The morning starts with a bus trip from Cape Town's CBD to the start line in Milnerton. The route then follows the coastline in the direction of Table Mountain – with sea and city views to boot – before finishing in Lower Long Street. And because the Cape Town outing is a fast and flat point-to-point route, regular runners can look to bag a PB on the day too.
PBs aside, the race route is renowned for being a jol on the day, with lively entertainment from performing arts groups along the route and at the water stops.
Entries for Absa Run Your City Cape Town have already opened, with an entry fee of R255. Unlicensed runners must also buy a temporary license for an additional R65.
