Haven't you heard? There’s a new kid on the hotel block in Cape Town. If you’d rather be in the heart of the city than out in the ’burbs, and you want all the nightlife Cape Town has to offer right on the doorstep, then you're going to love the inner-city setup of the Pullman Cape Town City Centre.
Cape Town’s newest city hotel is located in Triangle House, a seriously high skyscraper that was previously home to a Radisson Blu hotel. Set slap-bang in the heart of Cape Town’s central business district, it’s set to bring in all the clued-up corporate travellers and the holidaymakers looking to stay close to the city's best culture, food and clubbing spots.
The building reaches 104 metres, and its upper-floor rooms have some pretty impressive city and mountain views (there's both classic rooms and family suites on offer). The hotel is the first property in South Africa under the global Pullman Hotels & Resorts brand, which has more than 150 hotels worldwide.
Accor bills Pullman as a business-focused brand (much like the Radisson Blu it replaced), with a particular focus on business travellers, discerning holidaymakers and digital nomads post Covid. That means you can expect all the usual mod-cons on tap from flat-screen TVs and high-speed Wi-Fi to (if you’re here for work) a choice of in-house meeting spaces.
Though part of the appeal is the central location for exploring beyond the hotel, if you do want to stay in you’ll find fine dining in The Piano Room (be sure to check out the self-playing piano in there) and more casual fare in the Sea Street Coffee Lounge. Locals are all over it, so outdoor spaces are limited, but there's a pool deck and terrace with cocktails and pizza.
