Mark your diaries and loosen your waistbands: the Francophonie Food & Culture Festival has been confirmed for Saturday, March 15, 2025.

Now in its fourth year, this festive – and free! – event is hosted at the Belgian ambassador's residence in Newlands, and brings together a feast of flavors from across the Francophone world.

So while there's sure to be no shortage of Belgian chocolate and beers, you'll also find food and produce from Mauritius, France, Lebanon, Madagascar, Vietnam and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Did you know there are 120 million French speakers across 24 African countries!

More than 60 stalls will set up on the day, offering a taste of the rich diversity of the French-speaking countries of the world. Along with the food there will be musical performances and cultural showcases. There are also prizes to be won, with everything from Air France tickets and Namibian safaris up for grabs!

The Francophonie Food & Culture Festival takes place at the Belgian Residence in Boshof Avenue, Newlands, from 10 am to 5 pm on March 15, 2025. Parking is available at the Kirstenbosch Stone Cottages, with a free shuttle to the festival available throughout the day.
