It’s no joke: on April 24th, we celebrate International Hot Dog Day, and Buenos Aires has plenty to offer. From cult classics that have transcended generations to gourmet creations that reinvent the hot dog with unexpected toppings, the city is filled with options to honor this beloved snack. In this mini guide, we’ll show you the top spots — from the city center to the suburbs — where you can choose your favorite, add mustard (or whatever you like), and enjoy the perfect bite. Because a good hot dog is always a plan, right?

1. Panchitos del Sol

In the heart of downtown Buenos Aires, Los Panchitos del Sol is more than just a hot dog stand: it’s a ritual. Hidden at the back of the Galería del Sol, this fast lunch classic attracts nostalgic office workers, curious tourists, and die-hard fans of the German sausage. The secret to its fame isn’t just the warm buns or the homemade mustard with a secret recipe; it’s the mystique of the place: wooden bar, vintage photos, and the feeling of stepping into a time capsule. Founded in 1955, it set records for hot dogs sold and earned a spot in collective memory. There are people who have been coming here since they were kids, and now they bring their grandchildren. Because a good hot dog, made with love and tradition, is never forgotten. And if it’s at Panchitos del Sol, even more so.

Where: Florida 860, Microcenter.

2. Victor Audio Bar

The hot dog at this listening bar, one of Buenos Aires’ recent openings making waves, is one of the hits on the menu. It’s a cheddar and jalapeño sausage served with relish, crispy fries — yes, potato chips — ketchup, and mustard. Our recommendation is to order the hot dog alongside fries dusted with cacio e pepe, sour cream, and a homemade ketchup made at Victor Audio Bar, topped with capers for a flavor as original as it is delicious.

Where: Soler 5130, Palermo.

3. Crosta Pizza

Located in Villa Adelina, Crosta Pizza offers a variety of Neapolitan-style pizzas with lots of filling — something more in tune with Argentine tastes — and other artisanal recipes. One of them is the crosta dogs, hot dogs made in the same oven as the pizzas, using the same dough and mozzarella, with Vienna sausages and various toppings. The menu features twelve options, all named after dog breeds (there’s even a variety called Caniche with vegan sausage). Among the most original options are the Pitbull, with guacamole, nachos, lemon aioli, chives, and optional jalapeños; the Dogo Argento, with provolone, criolla sauce, and bell pepper mousse; and the Fox Terrier, with bacon, cheddar, chives, and a topping of crispy fries.

Where: Gral. Lamadrid 1710, Villa Adelina.

4. BABA House

BABA House, located in a charming 1926 house facing the Río de la Plata in Olivos, is a bar known for its combination of craft beer, music, and a traditional yet unique food offering. Among its menu options is a classic hot dog, perfect to enjoy with their bold beer styles.

This hot dog is made with Vienna bread and grilled sausage, complemented by the special BABA sauce, a mix of mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, pickles, honey, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, and garlic. It also includes pickled red onions and a decoration of crispy fries that add a crunch, balancing out the creaminess of the sauce.

Where: Av. del Libertador 2629, Olivos.

5. Cucha del Pari

Another hot spot in the Buenos Aires listening bar scene: Cucha del Pari in La Paternal, where we recently went for Tapas 2025. The star of the menu is the hot dog, with a sausage made by the restaurant's charcuterie chef and owner, José Juarroz. The hot dog is served on a homemade brioche bun and topped with curry ketchup, Dijon mustard, and some indispensable crispy fries.

Where: Batalla del Pari 916, La Paternal.
