We’re thrilled to announce that the Time Out Buenos Aires Restaurants & Bars Guide 2025 – which includes a special section on Mendoza – is now available in bookstores nationwide.
With this first edition, we’re making our debut in the Southern Cone, following decades of proven success for this publication in London, Paris, Rome, New York, and Barcelona, to name just a few cities where the Time Out Guide remains the undisputed beacon for any epicurean searching for the best spots to eat and drink in any city around the world.
Buenos Aires is home to more than 13,000 dining establishments. We’ve taken on the task of trying them – if not all, most of them – to review around 500 venues that we consider hidden gems of local gastronomy. “It’s the most complete guide to eating and drinking in Buenos Aires. It’s been a long time since a guide with this level of ambition has been made locally, especially in both digital and printed formats,” says food journalist and influencer Cecilia Boullosa – yes, she’s Chica Eléctrica – editor of the Time Out Guide.

Staying true to Time Out’s spirit, we’ve included establishments from all 48 neighborhoods of Buenos Aires and applied a diverse selection criterion. You’ll find everything from fine dining restaurants with Michelin stars, to classic bodegones where the three B’s – good, beautiful, cheap – reign, to the best-kept secret of the locals or the spot where gastronomic professionals eat. “Buenos Aires is a huge city, with many neighborhoods and an unfathomable gastronomic culture: we tried to make the guide reflect the city and its diversity as best as possible. There’s everything from a sandwich shop in La Boca or a little Peruvian bar in the Once neighborhood to Michelin-starred fine dining. It’s a democratic guide: we didn’t only include what’s trendy or award-winning. There are places that are quite anonymous, but spectacular,” says Boullosa, who worked closely with food journalist Guido Corsini on the creation of the Time Out Guide.

The Time Out Guide Includes a Special Dossier on Mendoza
Mendoza is undergoing a revolution, driven by wine. It has been selected as one of the Great Wine Capitals, and its gastronomy – which concerns us – has reached international levels. In fact, the Michelin Guide has awarded stars to four Mendoza establishments, and three others received the green star for their sustainability.

This and much more has made Mendoza a hotspot for both domestic and international visitors, particularly attracting the epicurean tourism crowd, those who love good food and drink. For this reason, we’ve included a dossier with restaurants and bars from different regions of the wine-producing province, applying the same criteria used for Buenos Aires venues: we’ve included restaurants from the most exclusive wineries, experiences in high-altitude mountain dining, and classic restaurants that remain relevant.
The Time Out Guide to Buenos Aires is an Imperfect Curation
Yes, as it reads. Of the approximately 13,000 dining establishments in Buenos Aires, we’ve selected just about 500. Were many left out? Of course! Is there a recent opening we didn’t include? Definitely! And if it’s worth it, we’ll include it in next year’s guide. Did we miss this or that place? It’s possible! We scoured every corner of the city, but there was a moment when the guide had to be closed to go to print. Therefore, we don’t pretend to be indisputable, but we do aim to nourish the exchange. But we are – without a doubt – genuine and reliable. By the way, Cecilia says: “We probably missed some places, and we’ll try to fix that in next year’s guide.”
