Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Buenos Aires experienced a boom in gourmet burger joints that filled the city and gave a twist to this classic minced meat sandwich, which has also become an icon of fast food. With innovative and classic combinations that never go out of style, if you want to take a burger tour around the city, here is our selection of the 15 best restaurants to eat the best burgers in Buenos Aires.

1. Fat Broder

Located in a small street in the iconic Palermo neighborhood, this burger joint run by two brothers is the best-kept secret among burger enthusiasts. With a millennial vibe, their burgers are abundant, tasty, and offer a wide variety of options, including vegetarian burgers. Among the favorites are the Juicy Lucy made with barbecue beef and the Fat Jack with spicy cheese.

Tip: They make their own incredible sauces.

Where: Charcas 3787.

2. Pony Line

One of the restaurants located within the exclusive Four Seasons Hotel, Pony Line is famous among locals for having the most expensive, yet the tastiest burger in Buenos Aires. They use the same cuts of meat as in Elena, the restaurant in the same hotel, which was recommended by the Michelin Guide in November 2023.

Tip: The secret of this burger is the patty made from Angus beef aged for 45 days, giving it an exceptional flavor.

Where: Posadas 1086.

3. Kiddo

Kiddo is the burger joint of YouTuber Burger Kid (Alejandro Roig), who transitioned from eating on social media to creating his own place with the flavors he loves.

Located in Las Cañitas, Kiddo is a spacious hall with just a counter, and it does not offer delivery: total simplicity where the incredible fast-food flavor shines.

Tip: Everything is delicious, but start with the Melvin: meat, cheese, bacon, crispy onions, and kiddo sauce. It's even better as a double.

Where: Arévalo 2882.

4. La Cabaña

One of Buenos Aires' most traditional high-end steakhouses is also the place to enjoy a burger made with Wagyu beef (the coveted luxury Japanese beef). Juicy, extra tender, and uniquely flavored, this burger is a flavor bomb.

Tip: The burger is topped with grilled provoleta, confit tomatoes, grilled bacon, wild arugula, and homemade celery mayonnaise.

Where: Alicia Moreau de Justo 580.

5. Pérez-H

Here, the burgers are honestly obscene. For example, the Gran Pérez has two meat patties, quadruple cheddar cheese, quadruple bacon, plus crispy and caramelized onions. And before you think, "Why so much obscenity?" let us add this: the Mardel Cheddar has three meat patties, smoked bacon inside and on top, and so much cheddar cheese it overflows: a great cheddar bath to get messy but happy.

Tip: Each branch has different promotions and opening hours. Follow them on Instagram to find the one closest to you.

Where: Defensa 435, San Telmo.

6. La Birra Bar

Chosen among the best burger joints in the world, this is the perfect place if you're looking for abundant dishes that adapt North American flavors to the Argentine palate. With a menu of 24 options, you can choose from a classic cheeseburger to the popular WTF!, composed of two 120-gram burgers, provoleta, tomato, bell pepper, bacon, crispy onions, and chimichurri mayonnaise.

Tip: Their burgers are so good they've conquered the American public with their location in Miami and the Madrid public.

Where: Pres. José Evaristo Uriburu 1068 (but they have many branches, and you can see all addresses on their website).

7. Il Quotidiano

Well-known in the Italian gastronomic circuit for its incredible homemade pasta, few know that among their "tempting" options hides a great burger that surprises with its quality and abundance. Called the Quotidiano Burger, it has two meat patties and comes with bacon, tomato, mixed greens, and fried onions, accompanied by the perfect amount of fries.

Tip: If you go with kids, ask about the children's version called Burger Bambino.

Where: Arenales 3360 or Ugarteche 3208.

8. El Desembarco

Another burger joint considered a classic among locals. A standout feature of El Desembarco is its unique menu division into three categories. Their burgers are classified as: Small Line, Gourmet Line, and Craving Line. We recommend trying the "San Telmo" burger, which has two patties, mozzarella triangles, confit cherry tomatoes, dambo cheese, lettuce, and sapucay sauce.

Tip: The most popular among the public is The Club Craving, a flavor bomb with four meat patties, quadruple cheddar, double bacon, crispy onions, and sapucay sauce.

Where: Avenida Corrientes 1206.

9. DeNiro Hamburguesería

This Buenos Aires burger joint gained immense popularity among burger lovers because it is one of the only ones in the country that makes its patties with skirt steak, a super tender and flavorful cut. With a menu of 16 different options, the most recommended are the Bien Cheta, with blue cheese, caramelized onions, arugula, and eggplant mayonnaise; the Doña Tota, with cheddar cheese, fried egg, bacon, bowtie pasta with cheddar, and barbecue sauce; and the Caprichosa, with double burger, double cheddar, double bacon, caramelized onions, and DENIRO® ketchup.

Tip: Besides skirt steak burgers, their menu also offers a great fried chicken sandwich and a hit milanesa sandwich.

Where: Honduras 5182, Palermo. (They have many branches, and you can see the full list on their website).

10. The Food Truck Store

What started in 2015 with a trailer and the dream of bringing food trucks to events in open spaces has now become a cult burger chain. We tried the Irvine and found it to be the perfect burger, with no frills but all the flavor. It has two 120-gram meat patties, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles, sliced onions, and thousand island sauce.

Tip: They have branches in Belgrano, Palermo, Recoleta, and Pilar, so you won't miss out.

Where: Las Heras 2201.

11. Club de la Birra

One of the most popular spots in Buenos Aires' beer circuit, it is also a great place to eat good (and huge) burgers. Among their many options, they recently added a tremendous burger to their menu called Blue Facu (in honor of their Recoleta branch's head chef who started as a dishwasher), which has double smash beef, double cheddar, arugula, basil, confit cherry tomatoes, and blue cheese sauce.

Where: Pres. Roberto M. Ortiz 1871.

12. 24th Street Burger Bs As

Former soccer player Jonatan Díaz is the mastermind behind this burger joint known for making the best smash burgers (burgers that are smashed during cooking). Among the favorites that you can't miss are the Fried Onion, the Double Cheeseburger, and the simple Cheese.

Tip: If you are in a group, ask for the combo of three burgers, which is great.

Where: Av. Álvarez Thomas 2338.

13. Mi Barrio

With options that aim to honor each neighborhood of Buenos Aires, among the most innovative burgers is the Belgrano: with two patties, it comes with grilled pineapple, caramelized onions, radish sprouts, blue cheese, and plum mayonnaise. A true delight, only for the brave.

Tip: They have special editions like the Pastura Queen burger, with 200 grams of pasture-raised beef, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and smoked bell pepper sauce. Crazy good.

Where: Arenales 2609.

14. Menenga

If you are open to adventure and love trying new flavors, this is the burger joint you need to visit. Run by Nicolás González, who describes Menenga as a place with “super innovative proposals and incredible varieties included within a simple, concise menu,” this Caballito burger joint is a neighborhood favorite.

Tip: If you dare to innovate, the spicy fried chicken burger, which pays homage to the classic Korean dish, is a must.

Where: Espinosa 480.

15. Arredondo

For those who are on team burgers but prefer to enjoy them with a good bottle of wine instead of a cold beer, Arredondo is the place to be. With a curated list of wineries, their menu of 13 burgers ranges from the classics with cheddar to more gourmet ones like the Olaguer with mushrooms and arugula or the Vegetarian (the patty is made with chickpeas and beets).

Tip: The Cisneros burger is pure innovation: it has butter, nuts, blue cheese, and grilled onions.
