Jazz is one of the popular music genres gaining followers worldwide, and while it was born in New Orleans (United States), Buenos Aires boasts faithful exponents of this art form.

In the style of the classic jazz clubs of New York and London, or with more intimate settings in old mansions, Buenos Aires offers a wide range of jazz clubs where artists and bands, both national and international, showcase their talent in the city's nights. In some places, you can even enjoy gourmet dinners or take dance classes. Here are the ten must-visit jazz spots in Buenos Aires.

1. Prez - Jazz & Music Club

One of the newest additions to the jazz club scene in Buenos Aires, Prez opened its doors in early 2022 in a basement that immediately transports you to the typical jazz clubs of New York. Despite sometimes covering other genres, Prez stays true to jazz, particularly free jazz, and features musicians dedicated to this style. They also host solo piano concerts on their three-quarter grand Yamaha piano. Occasionally, they hold special cycles like chamber music.

Post-pandemic, they added a jazz club to their offerings, open from Thursday to Sunday nights. Most bands play danceable music (traditional jazz, swing, blues, rhythm & blues), and there’s always space to dance. Regular dance classes are available every day of the week for all levels.
