Arriving in Mendoza, one of the wine capitals of the world, is an experience increasingly associated with gastronomy. The fusion between wineries and chefs, as well as the inclusion of open proposals for wine tourism, open up tours of paired dishes that are a spectacle in themselves.

Tastings and lunches are undoubtedly frequent visit options for those wanting to experience viticulture in person, but dinners are becoming more and more popular, especially during the summer season.

If you haven’t had the chance to enjoy a nighttime meal among the vineyards, we suggest you do so on your next visit to Mendoza. Here are some recommendations to help you first experience and then treasure a unique sensory moment.

1. Fogón, Cocina de Viñedo at Bodega Lagarde

Located in the heart of the historic Bodega Lagarde, Fogón, Cocina de Viñedo brings to light the essence of Cuyo flavors with a rich family history. The winery, founded in 1897 in Drummond, Luján de Cuyo, has witnessed the passage of time and the evolution of viticulture in the region.

In 2023, Fogón earned a prestigious mention in the Michelin Guide—along with three other Mendoza restaurants that also received the mention. Under the direction of chefs Lucas Olcese and Sebastián Ingallina, the restaurant is set in a historic courtyard, offering two seasonal tasting menus, with 4 and 7 courses, paired with wines from the winery, or guests can choose à la carte.

Details: Open Fridays and Saturdays from 8:00 PM. Reservations can be made via the website, by email at restaurant@lagarde.com.ar, or by calling (+54 261) 498-5185 or (+54 261) 156815961.

2. Abrasado: One of the Michelin Guide’s Recommendations

Just minutes from the City of Mendoza, Abrasado is the restaurant of Bodega Los Toneles. In its exclusive menu, aged meats take center stage, alongside regional and seasonal ingredients, available in two menu options: by courses or à la carte. At the end of 2023, just before celebrating its 10th anniversary, Abrasado was listed among the recommended establishments in the prestigious Michelin Guide.

Its dishes, paired with the winery’s wine collection and exclusive products from Familia Millán, such as meats, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and spices, ensure a sensory experience recommended by the most discerning experts. All of this takes place in a winery that was declared Cultural Heritage of the province in 2008. Dinner times are at 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
