One of the most anticipated long weekends of the year is approaching: Easter 2025. Just as some take the opportunity to indulge in gastronomic delights that pair well with the fresh air that's starting to settle in (chocolates, bagna cauda, paella), others choose to make a getaway.

The luckiest won't work on either Thursday, April 16th, or Friday, April 17th (the first is a non-working day, not a national holiday), so they will have four days to take advantage of, rest, and perhaps enjoy a little trip. In this article, we recommend everything from the classics like Bariloche with its Chocolate Festival to unique experiences like spending a weekend in the countryside in Norberto Riestra.

1. Miramar de Ansenuza, Córdoba

About 200 kilometers from Córdoba Capital, you'll find one of the largest saltwater lagoons in the world: Mar Chiquita. It is not only one of the Natural Wonders of the province but also one of the country's newest National Parks. Covering over 600,000 hectares, its pink southern flamingos are one of the main attractions. Here, you can go hiking, sailing, and even enjoy its beaches.

The local specialties are pejerrey (silverside fish) and otter, and the area has a mysterious profile as some of the city's old hotels were submerged by several floods and can now be easily seen.

Tip: There are different accommodation options, ranging from a hotel with lagoon views and an infinity pool to a glamping experience with full board. Here are some other amazing glamping spots.

Where: From Buenos Aires, take National Route 9 to Rosario, then take National Route 19 towards San Francisco, followed by Provincial Routes 3 and 17 to Miramar. It's about 700 kilometers.

2. Ushuaia

Easter has become one of the most popular long weekends for national tourism among Argentinians. According to a survey by Despegar, searches increased by 25% compared to March 2025, with Ushuaia being one of the most sought-after destinations.

It's ideal for those who enjoy nature and landscapes. The Laguna Esmeralda Natural Reserve is one of its main attractions, where a moderate hike leads to a breathtaking view surrounded by mountains and hanging glaciers. The End of the World Train, which once carried prisoners from the city to the prison, is another must-do.

Tip: The city has a great gastronomic offer, with standout restaurants like Ramos Generales (Av. Maipú 749), Volver (Av. Maipú 37), and Kalma (Av. Gobernador M.F. Valdez 293).

Where: The southernmost city in the world has direct flights to Buenos Aires every day of the week. The distance between the two cities is 3,000 kilometers.

3. Bariloche, Río Negro

Another top destination—also featured in Despegar’s ranking—is Bariloche. In this article, we share some must-see tourist and gastronomic spots in the city, which offers additional activities related to trekking, snow, and cuisine during the autumn-winter season.

Did you know this city alone produces over 2,000 tons of chocolate every year? During Easter, it dresses up for a party to celebrate it. During these days, the city fills with giant chocolate eggs made by the Master Chocolatiers of each factory, and every year, the largest chocolate bar in the world is created. There are also special activities for children and live shows.

Tip: You can check all the programming and activities for that time here.

Where: Bariloche is 1,500 kilometers from Buenos Aires but has frequent flights that connect both cities in 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Another option is to explore Chilecito, one of the province’s most important cities, located in the Antinaco-Los Colorados Valley, between the Velasco and Famatina mountain ranges. Its mining history is reflected in the Cable Carril, a unique engineering marvel, while its natural surroundings invite hiking, horseback riding, and visits to wineries. If you're this far, continue on to Famatina, known for its agricultural production and dramatic mountain landscapes.
