Flowers have that something special that lifts our spirits—whether just a little or a lot. It could be the colors, the scents, or the association with spring and good weather. They transform our surroundings and also celebrate special moments.

In our beloved Buenos Aires, the streets are filled with flower shops: from charming little stands to huge stores with a rich history. In this article, we'll explore the magic behind the city’s flower shops, the secrets of the most iconic flowers, how they are chosen by season, which days see the most sales, and how they influence our mood.

1. El Rosedal de Bullrich

El Rosedal de Bullrich opened its doors in 1999 when Palermo still didn’t have the beautiful sidewalks and promenades it has today. Despite initial challenges, its owners never gave up on their dream of setting up shop there, and they clearly succeeded. If you walk along Avenida Bullrich, almost reaching Avenida Libertador, you’ll find the iconic flower stand. Peonies, lilies, anemones, and tuberoses, always adapted to the season.

Fun Fact: They’re open 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

Where: Avenida Intendente Bullrich 44.

2. Tu Jardín

Florería Tu Jardín was born as a space for those looking to add a special touch to their spaces and stay in touch with nature. It opened in 1999 in Palermo, but in 2024, it moved to Barracas to continue the family tradition that began in San Telmo in the 1980s.

The most popular flower is the rose, and their specialty is floral boxes, specially designed arrangements for customers. Valentine’s Day, Mother's Day, Women's Day, and spring are days with high demand.

Fun Fact: The team wakes up early to go to the flower market on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to carefully select the flowers.

Where: Av Montes de Oca 251, Barracas.

3. Florería Conde

Florería Conde was born during the pandemic when its founders, Nicolás De Jesús and Agustina Tirantte, experts in event planning and decorations, found themselves with free time and no work. So, they decided to seize the opportunity to sell flowers. They started with a small shop on Conde Street—which is where the name comes from—and later set up small stands in cafes and various points in shopping malls. They eventually had 70 stands across Buenos Aires.

Their prices are affordable, and their specialty is the “pick-up” bouquets available at café stands. They visit the market twice a week and are known for their pink color schemes.

Fun Fact: You’ve probably seen many of their floral arrangements being transported in vintage cars around the city, as they are frequently hired by brands for this type of activity.

Where: Av García del Río 3709.

4. La Floristería Boutique

La Floristería was born from a family passion: Alejandra, the founder, grew up surrounded by flowers in Colombia thanks to her grandmother, who had a flower shop and belonged to the Bogotá Gardening Club. After several courses and experience, she opened a space in 2018 that combines art and nature in Bella Vista, to the northwest of Buenos Aires.

Florería Atlántico in Buenos Aires is known as one of the city's top bars, but its deceptive façade and floral aesthetics also attract attention. While its specialty is the hidden bar behind the façade, the shop still stands out for its decorative floral touch that enhances the experience for visitors. Occasionally, they offer floral arrangements, but it’s more common to see bottles of wine for sale.
