If you're a fan of avocado, the Avocado Toast is your paradise on a slice of toast. This classic has become a must-have for breakfasts, brunches, light lunches, and snacks, and in Buenos Aires, there are options for all tastes: with poached egg, smoked salmon, or a vegan version with fresh pico de gallo. WHAT? Yes, there's something for everyone. Each place adds its special touch, from sourdough breads with seeds to top-quality ingredients like organic olive oil and freshly squeezed lime. There's something for every palate. Where to try the best Avocado Toast in the city? Here’s the list.

1. Blanca Deco & Café

At Blanca, avocado toast is a favorite for breakfasts, brunches, or snacks. It’s made with Hass avocados, olive oil, sea salt, and pepper, served on a slice of sourdough bread. You can enjoy it in its classic version with crushed almonds or add an extra touch with scrambled eggs or a soft-boiled egg. Our recommendation is to pair it with a delicious café con leche. Another option we saw on other tables is pairing it with yogurt bowls or acai bowls, perfect for a balanced and tasty breakfast.

Pro tip: The Sinclair bar is beautiful and has lots of outdoor seating for enjoying the fresh air.

Where: Soldado de la Independencia 1177, Sinclair 3136.

2. Lab Tostadores de Café

With a bar perfect for enjoying a good coffee – which, in our opinion, is one of the best in the city – and an outdoor space that invites relaxation, LAB is ideal for breakfasts and brunches. Their avocado toast is the star: served on homemade toasted focaccia, it features fresh spinach, avocado cream, tomato, olives, and a special touch of cacao nibs dust. It’s vegan-friendly, and you can add scrambled eggs as an extra. If you're looking for something else, the scrambled eggs and quinoa bowl are other favorites.

Pro tip: Ask for it with a Flat White or a Cold Brew and enjoy.

Where: Humboldt 1542.

3. Bilbo Café

The Avocado Toast is a delight that combines homemade whole grain country bread with seeds, avocado wedges, poached egg with runny yolk, cherry tomatoes, homemade granola, and edible flowers. Its taste and texture are AMAZING because of the perfect balance between the crunchiness of the bread and the creaminess of the avocado. Our recommendation is to pair it with the house coffee, Merlín, a Colombian blend with notes of nuts and cocoa: a unique treat you’ve probably never tried before.

Pro tip: Bilbo Café also offers another delicious and different option, the Avocado Sandwich on whole baguette with seeds, featuring avocado, Danbo cheese, sliced tomato, and greens, served with sweet potato chips.

4. Borra Caffé

Borra Caffé’s avocado toast is made with perfectly toasted sourdough bread, fresh avocado, and a creamy poached egg, seasoned with spices and extra virgin olive oil. There’s something for everyone: a vegan version with homemade hummus and sliced avocado. If you're looking for something warm, try it with a flat white, or if you prefer something fresher, opt for a natural juice. Perfect for brunch, breakfast, or lunch: it's ALWAYS AVOCADO TOAST TIME!

5. Doc Café

The avocado toast at Doc Café is an impressive option for any time of the day. The portion is generous, with crispy sourdough bread on the outside and soft on the inside. Fresh avocado is paired with radishes, roasted tomatoes, sprouts, and a special touch of homemade granola that adds a delightful crunch. Accompanied by organic scrambled eggs and roasted pumpkin, the dish is complete and unique. It also comes with eggs and a salad, and many people add bacon.

Additionally, they offer vegan tostones and fainás, such as the huancaína with beetroot hummus, or the classic house fainá with mushrooms.

Pro tip: We recommend ordering the "Happiness Combo," which includes a flat white and a natural juice. A complete set for enjoying a good moment.

Where: Araoz 645, Villa Crespo.

6. Blossom

With crispy country bread, avocado, and a soft omelet, it feels as homemade as it is delicious. If you prefer something lighter, you can opt for the version with fresh tomatoes and a poached egg, perfect for adding a creamy touch. At Blossom, it always comes with an infusion and a natural juice to balance the flavors. Also, if you're craving something sweet, you can enjoy it with apple crumble or a delicious Lemon Pie, which is a treat.

Pro tip: To go with it, order a lemonade. It can be classic, with mint and ginger, or made with red fruits.

The Palta Toast at Bandol is made with a slice of sourdough bread with seeds, spread with low-fat cream cheese, and topped with mashed Hass avocado with lime, pepper, salt, and extra virgin olive oil. On top, there's a poached egg cooked just right, a seed mix, and cherry tomatoes. It’s served with a glass of orange juice and your choice of infusion. If you want another option, try the “Greek” version: with concasse tomato, halloumi cheese, scrambled eggs, and bacon if you fancy. Many also pair it with breakfasts that include yogurt, fruits, nuts, or a green salad.

Pro tip: At Bandol, they call it "Palta Toast" to identify it with the 100% Rioplatense language.

9. Dunno

The Avocado Toast at Dunno, created by Juan Martín Bianucci and Julieta Sanna, is served on low-acid sourdough bread with avocado cream seasoned with cream cheese, olive oil, lime, salt, and pepper. It’s topped with scrambled eggs, sliced cherry tomatoes, and black sesame. There are vegan options without eggs or with caramelized tomatoes.

It’s recommended to pair it with Agua de Jamaica (cold hibiscus tea with a touch of lemonade and a rosemary garnish) or a cold flat white. At Dunno, you can stop by for a coffee to go or stay to enjoy it with good music and a relaxed atmosphere, either at the bar or on the tree-lined sidewalk in Belgrano R.

Pro tip: The name Dunno came from a Mac Miller song that the creators love. It means "Don't know" in informal English, and reflects their approach to life: no fixed plans, always improvising, and enjoying the journey.

Where: Zapiola 2019.

10. Ninina

At Ninina, the avocado toast is prepared artisanal style, using sourdough bread with seeds and lightly toasted. The toast is topped with freshly mashed avocado, Zuelo organic olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, lime, and a pico de gallo sauce with onion, bell pepper, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño, and more lime: a real treat. It’s served on its own, though you can add a poached egg or smoked salmon. It’s vegan-friendly, and the bread is made with organic flours.

Pro tip: The touch of pico de gallo sauce is a must-try.
