Buenos Aires is at the forefront of art and culture, on par with the world's leading capitals — and this fills us with pride. Artlab, the Creative Laboratory of Art and Technology located in Villa Crespo, is a leading force in innovation, technology, and digital creativity in both Argentina and globally. It has been declared of Cultural Interest by the Buenos Aires Legislature since 2023.
In 2025, the space, led by producers and artists Gonzalo Solimano and Ariel Charec, celebrates its decade of existence. Today, February 7th, it unveils its cultural program for the year, which brings many exciting changes, including a new HiFi Room.
"We’ve changed our sound system, transforming the room into a quadraphonic HiFi space with a rare and unique collection of sound equipment, built between 1945 and 1970. It’s a collector's piece that’s very hard to find and offers a unique sound," says Solimano, who also reveals a major highlight for 2025: "We already have bookings from many important artists who’ve reserved dates to listen to their new albums. Last year, Charly García and Fito Páez had listening sessions for their albums at Artlab. Now, we’ve raised the bar, transforming the room into the best in the region."
Solimano emphasizes that 2025 will be a very special year for Artlab as they celebrate their 10th anniversary in December. "This will be the most important year for the platform, with a major international impact," he predicts.

What is Artlab?
Gonzalo Solimano puts it into words: "Artlab is a laboratory of art and technology that promotes cultural projects involving music and digital art. We have a cultural center where we generate artist residencies, art exhibitions, and a HiFi room for concerts and experiences. It’s a meeting point for culture and a very curious community eager to discover new projects," he highlights.

What’s Coming for Artlab in 2025
- The art and creativity hub, chosen in 2017 by Mutek — the International Digital Creativity Festival — to land in Buenos Aires, serves as a meeting place for artists from various disciplines and a space for disseminating and exploring digital creativity. This year, it has transformed its educational program, Artlab Academy, into Artlab Pro. This new space is focused on professional development at the intersection of art, technology, and innovation. "Through this program, artists, curators, and cultural producers share their knowledge, making an impact on the culture of our country," Solimano points out.
- February marks the launch of the second edition of the program "Intersections of the Future 2: Artificial Intelligence in Cultural Ecosystems." It will be a month dedicated to exhibitions, workshops, and discussions inviting reflection on the future of art in the digital age. “An intensive and enriching dialogue that celebrates the fusion between advanced technology and artistic expression while delving into a deep conversation about its complexities, tensions, and horizons,” as explained by the cultural space. This month, artist Sofía Crespo is the special guest and will present her work in Buenos Aires for the first time.
- Additionally, Fridays are dedicated to the "Círculo de Sonido" cycle, a dance space focused on house music with local and international artists. For the opening of the 2025 programming at the cultural center and creative laboratory, tonight, February 7th, at 11 pm, Argentine DJ and producer Richie Hell, along with multidisciplinary artist Francisca Oyhanarte, will perform. Oyhanarte uses sound waves to create visuals that elevate the performance. Solimano and Charec will also join the opening, representing our distinctive sound.
- Saturdays are dedicated to Artlab en Vivo!, which introduces new styles such as jazz and chamber music. On February 8th at 8 pm, Gillespi & Álvaro Torres — two great icons of Buenos Aires' jazz scene — will present part of their latest project "Forma," recorded as a duo. For this performance, they will adapt it into a band format. Also performing will be Franky93 Trío, DJ and artist known for co-creating the group @chinwezz.vibe, and DJ Karen, who will curate a selection of vinyl for the night.
- Moreover, the Listening Bar, equipped with the HiFi Room’s high-fidelity sound system, will offer curated musical selections by renowned artists, providing an exquisite listening experience.
- Of course, during February, visitors can enjoy Synthesis, Artlab’s gastronomic proposal that aims to "honor the traditional while embracing the contemporary," led by Chef Mala Ludwig. With Asian influences, it’s a must-visit for foodies and anyone who loves great dining. It is open from Wednesday to Saturday starting at 6 pm, and we recommend reserving a table in the gallery — an inspiring experience.
