3. Floatation therapy at Bristol Float Centre

If you’re looking for a meditation alternative that helps you relax, stimulate your brain, and eliminate toxins from your body, floatation therapy could be just what the doc ordered. Essentially, you’ll float in a tank filled with salt water at body temperature. Due to its salt levels, the tank provides a comfortable buoyancy, allowing you to feel weightless and at peace. In addition, the lighting adds to the zen vibes.

4. Silks and rope classes at Circomedia

Try your hand (or body) at an aerial silk class with Circomedia – you know, those classes where you’re suspended from the ceiling and hanging inside a large strip of silky fabric? Yep, that’s the one. And while experience does help, they also have beginner classes on offer if you feel like getting out of your comfort zone. Aside from building core muscle strength and improving flexibility, aerial silks are considered a highly skilled discipline that can have you in all sorts of twists and turns – in an oddly therapeutic way. Enjoy.

5. Rocket Padel Bristol Club

Ah, the humble padel. A wild sports craze that has taken social media – and the world – by storm in recent years. Featuring 12 courts, free parking, accessibility facilities and a bistro/bar, you’d be forgiven for wanting to spend a whole day hanging out at the ‘UK’s largest indoor padel centre’. 6. Yoga, Movement and Wellness at The Wild Box

Without having to think about waxing or shaving at the last minute, you’ll breeze into this self-care Sunday with a difference. Here at the Wild Box, you’ll enjoy a slow-flow yoga class, followed by a wholesomely nourishing lunch to feed your soul (and belly) and rounded off with a Gua Sha workshop to learn how to take care of your skin at home. Dreamy, right? We couldn’t agree more. And while there are many wonderful classes and retreats to choose from here, this particular one screams (or whispers) love and light in the best way possible. 8. Open water swimming at Clevedon Marine Lake

Fancy a dip in some open water this summer? Cheat a little and take a trip to Clevedon Marine Lake – although technically still a lake, it’s really a massive tidal pool filled with seawater from the Bristol Channel every spring tide. Irrespective, it’s a super refreshing way to spend your morning, and you can sleep that extra bit longer knowing that you don’t need to think about body hair. There is 15,000 square metres of ‘safe sea’ to splash about in – plus, if you dabble in photography, the views are stunning. And it’s free – although you can donate to the charity that maintains the lake – so dive right in.

10. Omkari Yoga: authentic yoga run by an experienced teacher

We know yoga has become part of the mainstream over the past few years, but there’s something to be said for working with a highly trained (500 hours+), authentic yoga teacher who is committed to working with you individually – or in classes of up to three people. There are other options to join larger classes, but the individual approach sounds great for someone in recovery or requires a more personalised practice. Namaste queen.
