Baristas is one of Bristol’s coffee stalwarts, having been in its spot in Victoria Street since 2000 (although it relaunched under new ownership in 2004). Thanks to its location, Baristas buzzes with activity from the minute it opens its doors, providing office workers and creatives with that all-important first caffeine hit of the day.
Keep an eye out for guest coffees that come and go to accompany Baristas’ longstanding own blend. If you’re in for breakfast, pick up a pastry or order one of the legendary bacon sarnies. At lunchtime, you’ll find huge sandwiches stuffed with locally grown and made produce, while the cakes are delicious for those experiencing an afternoon slump.
There’s not much space inside, but get there early enough and you can sit and nurse your cup of coffee smugly as you watch the queues forming. This is a coffee shop that has stood the test of time, and it’s easy to see why.
