Located on the Bath Road in the creative hub that is Paintworks, Bocabar is a real jewel in this end of town’s crown. The space is vast and open, which is hardly surprising given it occupies the top floor of a warehouse space used for events. However, despite its size, it somehow still manages to feel cosy. This is probably down to the mish-mash of rustic furniture, curios, fairy lights, rugs, artwork and toys (kids are very welcome here and the space is perfect for buggies).
Most people go for the pizzas, which are freshly prepared, crisp and topped with local, seasonal ingredients. Local hams and cheeses sit alongside typical Mediterranean flavours on the broad and varied menu. There's a special children’s pizza menu, too.
If pizza’s not your thing, the salads are huge, or you can go up to the huge ten-foot bar that stands in the centre of the room and choose from a selection of deli-style tapas dishes. While not exclusively vegetarian, the menu has a strong Mediterranean influence, so vegetables and herbs feature heavily across all sections of the menu.
