Time Out says

The Alliance's black-and-white facade has claimed its spot atop the crest of its Spring Hill rise since 1864. A rare beauty, and often touted as Brisbane's best gastro-pub, she offers a well priced lunch and dinner menu waiting to be explored. Head to the bistro for chef's roast suckling pig, barbecue Wagyu brisket with creamy mash, or a lunchtime-perfect Sichuan crispy duck salad. Resplendent with crisp nuggets of fried duck on a tumbled mix of shredded carrot, lettuce, cucumber ribbons, bean sprouts and coriander leaf, it comes drenched with warming Bang Bang peanut sauce and sprinkled with black-and-white sesame seeds.
