Mecca Bah is all about bringing a touch of the Middle East to Brisbane. Their Fortitude Valley restaurant welcomes you with evocative, lush décor and a relaxed atmosphere.
Start with a cocktail. Mecca Bah prides itself on its drinks and they all come in under the $20 mark with everything from classic Martinis to sweet pink concoctions. The food menu is designed for sharing so the trick here is getting lots of small dishes. Try the sweet potato falafels, which come drizzled with tahini, or the grab the halloumi, baked and served with pomegranate, mint and lemon. Carnivores won’t be disappointed either, with lamb kofte and rich, meaty tagines to warm you through.
Staff know about what they’re serving and are friendly and efficient throughout. If you come in a group you’ll most likely be recommended a Turkish pizza or two – the spiced chicken with eggplant, rocket and tahini is a crowd pleaser. You can also book the kids in for a pizza-making class or book yourself in for a crash course in making cocktails.
