If you have a bit of a crush on Margaritas and all their boozy pals, head to the Cobbler on October 28 for the grand finale of the 1800 Tequila House Swap cocktail competition. The star spirit of the evening is the super slick tequila. Bartenders from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne will be convening in the moody West End cocktail bar to win hearts and minds for their 1800 Tequila cocktails, with the crew who sells the most concoctions being crowned the ultimate House Swap champion.

Who’s going to be lined up behind the bar? You’ll get to see the gang from Sydney’s party Tiki bar Jacoby’s, the chic Hats and Tatts Melbourne crew, and Brisbane’s very own laneway bar team from Death and Taxes. Each crew is charged with creating a 1800 Tequila-based cocktail while producing some killer bartender banter to reel in prospective customers.

Your job is to order and drink your favourite creation. And the best part is you’ll get to guzzle top-quality cocktails for only $10 a glass, with all proceeds from the beverages going towards charities of each bar’s choosing. The Brisbane crew will mix their hearts out in support of RSPCA Queensland, Melbourne’s representatives will send their cocktail dosh to Black Dog Institute, and the Sydney team will be pouring for Emmett’s Army for Cystic Fibrosis.

Kicking off at 8pm and mixing through till 11pm, you can expect these colourful crews to get as creative with their cocktail spruiking as they are with their drink recipes. Entry to this tequila funhouse is totally free, but you’ll want to come with fat stacks, because it’s strictly a cash bar on the night.
