Can you imagine the festive cocophony of dozens of tubas playing carols? Experience it yourself on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, when Tuba Christmas enlivens downtown Boston. For more than 50 years, the NYC-born tradition brings low brass players out to cities across the country, including a longstanding tradition in Boston. Now held on the Steps at Downtown Crossing, the free performance runs from noon–1pm. Sure, a large ensemble of low brass may seem a little silly—but it's a heartwarming sight and sound to behold.
