The North End is one of the most restaurant-dense neighborhoods in the country, so it makes pefect sense that its biggest annual attraction are the feasts. These are street fairs celebrating Italian American culture with food carts, carnival games, live music and parades, held each weekend in August to honor various saints. This weekend, Hanover Street is taken over in honor of the Feast of Saint Agrippina, the patron saint of thunderstorms, leprosy and evil spirits, apparently. There’s a schedule of free live music, raffles that support community endeavors, Peroni beer gardens, and—of course—food vendors selling wood-fired pizza by the slice; subs with sausage, peppers and onions; filled-to-order cannoli, arancini and more.
