Time Out says

Rosh Hashanah is the celebration of the Jewish New Year and a two-day celebration of the creation of the world. This year, it runs from October 2–4. Mark this special holiday with a visit to Jewish tavern Lehrhaus, which serves an inventive kosher menu and offers classes and events for the curious.

Mamaleh’s in Cambridge and Brookline offers some serious deli nosh and catering with all the classics(It's not kosher, but Mamaleh's does not serve pork or shellfish.) Order by September 27 to bring a Rosh Hashanah spread home. You can also join a happy hour on October 4 at Mamaleh’s Kibbitz Corner in Cambridge (reserve a spot here).

Sweeten your celebrations by pre-ordering honey cake, babka and challah from Bakey, the renowned Boston bakery. Zaftigs Delicatessen (which is not kosher) with locations in Brookline and Natick is offering pre-orders on catering (by September 27), as well.

Temple Israel of Boston is hosting an inclusive service and dinner for those in their 20s and 30s on October 2, and Talking Hands puppet theater in Brookline will present a kid-friendly Rosh Hashanah show on October 5.
