Mei Mei makes some of the best dumplings in New England at its factory in Southie, and the secret sauce is traditional technique combined with a diverse influence of flavors. The Chinese American family-owned company—which started as a beloved Boston food truck—has grown into a community-focused wholesaler, supplying awesome shops and markets throughout the region. The dumpling factory houses a specialty market and is open for tours, ticketed cooking classes and special events Wednesday–Sunday. It also serves a café menu of dumplings like lemongrass-pork and curried sweet potato, the signature Double Awesome scallion-pancake egg sandwich and more.
