Le Mari

New to Newbury Street in July 2024, Le Mari is the ownership debut for chef Leigh Whittaker. The world traveler pivoted to culinary school during the pandemic and trained at Earth at Hidden Pond and Fox & the Knife. Le Mari means "the husband" in French, but Whittaker is devoted to broader Mediterranean flavors at her bistro. The opening menu offers beef tartare with beech mushrooms and bone marrow aioli, duck confit atop a crispy rice cracker and a filled-pasta presentation inspired by French onion soup. Along with wines by the glass and a couple non-alcoholic options, cocktails are playful and seasonally inspired. The bistro has a charming patio out front prime for people-watching.
