Chef Will Gilson’s Cambridge Street Hospitality Group (Puritan & Co., The Lexington and more) debuted Amba Cafe and Rotisserie in 2024. The name refers to a tangy mango sauce of Middle Eastern Jewish origin and alludes to Amba’s inspiration. Flavors on the breakfast, lunch, dinner and grab-and-go menus celebrate diversity across the Mediterranean region, centered on shawarma-rubbed, crispy-skin roast chicken. Situated on the corner of First and Spring streets, Amba is next door to the group's First Street Market, an event venue that hosts pop-up farmers and maker markets, with its own bar and vintage piano.
