Somernova

Moki, a Massachusetts wellness company inspired by Nordic experiences, is bringing back its urban sauna and cold plunge experience this winter. Following a stint last year on Boston's Greenway, the Moki Sauna Winter Village is popping up outside of Aeronaut Brewing Company in Somerville through April 2025. It's set up semi-privately outside Somernova, a development also home to Boston Bouldering Project, Carolicious Venuzuelan Arepas, brand-new dumpling house Mimi's Chuka Diner and other businesses. Bringing Moki onsite for the season "[creates] a space where entrepreneurs and visitors alike can step away from the demands of their work to recharge, reflect and embrace mindfulness," said Kristin Phelan, vice president of real estate development for Rafi Properties, which owns Somernova.  Here's how it works: Plan for about two hours, and book a $60 session to experience full use of the wood-fired sauna, cedar-barrel cold plunge tub and fire pits. Bring a swimsuit or other light, comfortable clothing; Moki supplies towels, slippers, lockers, changing areas and rinsing stations (robes are available for a small additional fee). One-hour fast passes, 10-packs, monthly memberships and gift cards are also available.
