The Ultimate Meal is a series where we share how to best enjoy Boston’s best restaurants. Whether you have been to these restaurants a dozen times or are trying to check off as many as you can from our “best of” lists, The Ultimate Meal is here to help you decide what to order once you have sat down at the table. Did you catch our last one at the Beehive? This time around we are talking about how to have the ideal experience at Grana at the Langham Boston.
Grana has taken the place of Bond at the Langham Boston and it is a lighter, airier version of its former occupant. You’ll want to go here for a business lunch, brunch with friends or even a solo treat yourself breakfast. Grana is one of the rare spots in town that can do it all. The refined, but approachable menu and atmosphere is just what we needed downtown, and the vibe is oh-so-chic that you will want to come back again and again.
When to go to Grana
Grana is open for breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch so this is the spot for those meetings where you don’t need to be so formal, but also for those where you want to impress your guests. There is something special about meeting for breakfast during the week—total boss move. Trust us, whoever you are chatting with will take you seriously when you come to Grana to chat over a cappuccino and an avocado toast.
Who to bring with you
This is the spot to meet a friend for coffee, business colleagues for lunch and all your friends for brunch on the weekend.
What to drink
Cocktails and coffee are the name of the game here. The cocktails are delicious and beautiful. But we also hear that there are these “secret over the top milkshakes” for those in the know. The milkshake for March is called “Feelin’ Lucky” and is made with: Pistachio gelato, Irish cream gelato, clover sugar cookie, chocolate pot o’ gold cupcake, lucky charm marshmallows and chocolate coins. Guests just have to show the post on Instagram for access to order the milkshake.
What to eat at Grana
For breakfast go for the avocado toast, a classic omelet or the French toast paired with a cappuccino or tow. And then if you come in for lunch trying the pasta is a must. The Cavatelli Pasta and the Tagliatelle Pasta dishes are just perfection and the perfect treat especially when paired with one of their cocktails for a treat yourself moment.
