With only seven games remaining in the season, the Celtics hit the court at Capital One Area to play the Washington Wizards last night, hoping for a win to get them closer to the one-seeded Milwaukee Bucks.

Unfortunately, the C’s lost 130-111 to a Wizards team that was without Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma and Daniel Gafford, a loss probably took them out of contention for the one-seed.

What does the Celtics loss mean?

The loss pushed the Celtics 2.5 games behind the Bucks, and with only six games left, it looks like taking back the one-seed is pretty slim.  The Cs will take the court against  the Bucks on Thursday, which ideally could earn them the season tiebreaker. However, the Bucks play the Pacers Wednesday, and if they win that game, they’ll be up three games over the Celtics. In that scenario, they’d need two independent losses from the Bucks, in addition to a win on Thursday to take the one-seed.

What are the Celtics going to do?

“Bounce back from this game,” Jayson Tatum told SB Nation, when asked about the rest of the season. “I think that’s the most important. We got to respond. And I feel like we will play better. We’ll come out with more pop. We’ll come out with more energy. More focus. Just learning from this game [and] not carrying it on. Move on to the next one.”

How do the Celtics fare against the Bucks in the Playoffs?

Last season, the Cs met the Bucks in the Eastern Conference semifinals, and they earned the edge in those seven games, and the Celtics were able to dominate the Bucks during the final game at TD Garden.

Unfortunately, with this loss to the Wizards, it means Game 7 against Milwaukee could happen at home for the Bucks, at Fiserv Forum.

“In the playoffs, you’re going to have to win games on the road at some point,” Tatum told SB Nation, when asked about the one seed. “Last year, we beat the Bucks in Game 6. Last year, we beat Miami in Game 7 on the road. So, at some point, you’re going to have to go on the road and get a win.”

When do the Celtics play the Bucks?

The Celtics and Bucks will tip off at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. You can catch the game on TNT or listen on the Celtics Radio Network.
