Didn’t book a getaway for the long holiday weekend? Not to worry, there’s plenty of fun adult activities to keep you busy in Boston for the Fourth of July. After you’ve found a great spot to watch the fireworks, head into one of these bars, restaurants or rooftops for drink specials and summer foods to make your celebration one to remember. Alibi Bar & Lounge

Head to the famous (and probably haunted) Liberty Hotel where Alibi Bar & Lounge will be serving up a fun holiday cocktail to celebrate the 4th of July, and Boston’s own role in our road to independence! The Liber-Tea features Maker's Mark, muddled strawberry, green tea, Lemon and simple syrup.

Buttermilk & Bourbon

Chef Jason Santos’ New Orleans inspired restaurant will feature a festive cocktail special to celebrate the fourth, the Color Me America. Featuring 792 Bourbon, apple pie spice cider, black walnut bitters, and a firework-esque sparkler adorning each glass, the cocktail is basically a holiday in a glass.

Citrus & Salt

The casual Mexican spot from Chef Jason Santos will feature a festive cocktail special to celebrate the 4th, the Color Me America. Featuring 792 Bourbon, apple pie spice cider, black walnut bitters, and a firework-esque sparkler adorning each glass, the cocktail is basically a holiday in a glass.

The Dubliner

One of our favorite Irish pubs in Boston is throwing in their solidarity against the English with a frozen patriotic drink for the Fourth of July. The Red White and Booze includes blue curaçao, rumchata, and strawberry daiquiri, and will cool you off after a hot summer day.

The vegetarian restaurant in Southie got their liquor license recently, and they’re celebrating the fourth with the Lulu Liberty Mojito, which is fresh mint muddled with lime, coconut rum, house simple syrup and blue spirulina.

Nash Bar & Stage

Boston’s top country bar will feature a festive cocktail special to celebrate the 4th, the Color Me America. Featuring 792 Bourbon, apple pie spice cider, black walnut bitters, and a firework-esque sparkler adorning each glass, the cocktail is basically a holiday in a glass.

Night Shift Everett Taproom

One of Boston’s top breweries, Night Shift, is kicking off the holiday weekend with the release of  Shark Jumper IPA and their Jump Into Summer Party at the Everett Taproom. Get ready for a wild time, and bring your bathing suit, because the brewery will have a slip ‘n’ slide and dunk tank ready for revelers. 

Shark Jumper is an IPA with lemon that pours pale yellow in color and sips soft and smooth, with an aroma of lemon bars, lemon peel, and sweet pineapple. Shark Jumper IPA is the second limited edition release in Night Shift's new Share The Night Series which is a collection of beers for good. $1 from every 4-pack of Shark Jumper IPA will be donated to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

Far Out Ice Cream will be providing the sweets, The Sausage Guy will be grilling up some Santilli Brats from Kayem, and Atlantic White Shark Conservancy will also be there so you can learn more about their mission. 

Saturday July 1

Pine Bar

The new(ish) bar at the Boston Public Market, The Pine Bar,  will be pouring three celebratory drinks the week of the holiday. The White with tequila, lemon juice and elderflower liqueur; The Red with Nantucket cranberry vodka and Prosecco; and the Blue, with Deacon Giles dry gin, Blueshine blueberry port and Beaver Pond peach brandy. 

Sunday July 2 - Saturday July 8

Rooftop at the Revere

Boston’s largest rooftop bar and restaurant, the Rooftop at the Revere is open all weekend long. Can’t grill at home? Try the summer kickoff menu that includes a BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwich with Coleslaw, Baby Back Ribs with Cornbread, All-American Cupcakes, along with the rooftops full menu. You’ll also find drinks, like Don Julio specials like the Libertad with Don Julio Reposado, watermelon, agave, lime and The Chispa with jalapeño and serrano infused Don Julio Blanco, raspberry shrub and lime.

A Live DJ will also be spinning tunes on Saturday night from 6 to 9pm. and Don Julio will be onsite for a special tasting on Sunday, July 2 from 2 to 4pm. The rooftop will welcome revelers during its regular hours on July 3rd and 4th. Alongside plenty of room for mingling and dancing, table seating and cabana reservations are available.

Heading to the Esplanade to watch the big fireworks show? Beloved Newbury St. eatery Sonsie will be offering a buy one, get one free Margherita Pizza deal. Perfect for a delicious, and affordable, picnic under the fireworks, the pizzas are made with housemade mozzarella, fresh basil, and San Marzano tomatoes, Sonsie's Margherita Pizza costs $18, which will be the total cost for two pizzas for 4th celebrations!
