Opening Day for the Red Sox is almost here, with the Sox hosting the Baltimore Orioles this week in Boston at Fenway. Fans are, of course, hoping for an amazing 2023 season, because anything would be an improvement after missing the playoffs in 2022.

When is the Red Sox home opener in Boston?

Boston's opening series is against the Orioles at Fenway Park, with Opening Day set for Thursday, March 30 at 2:10 pm at Fenway Park.

Who is in the Red Sox starting rotation?

CBS News Boston reports that Red Sox manager Alex Cora has confirmed the rotation to begin the 2023 season.

Corey Kluber and Chris Sale will start the first two games of the season, and Cora just revealed the rest of the rotation, which will go as follows:

Who is Corey Kluber?

In pitcher Corey Kluber, the Red Sox have a two-time AL Cy Young Award winner who is pitching for his fourth team in the past four seasons. Kluber joins the team after a year playing for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and is known as a seasoned pitcher coming off an injury free season.

This is the first time in four years Kluber has pitched Opening Day and he told MLB.com it’s always a thrill.

"It's definitely an honor," Kluber said. "There are plenty of guys in this clubhouse who could've taken the ball on Opening Day. The way I look at it is, regardless if you pitch the first day, the fifth day, it really only matters that first time through the order and then everything kind of gets messed up anyways. But it is an honor. I've done it before, and I try to make it as normal as possible."

In seven career starts at Fenway, Kluber is 4-1 with a 3.53 ERA.

Additionally, the Sox have added World Baseball Classic star Masataka Yoshida in addition to veterans Justin Turner and Adam Duvall.

What is the full Red Sox 2023 season schedule?

The full season schedule can be found at MLB.com, and tickets for Opening Day on March 30 are still available. The Red Sox will play the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium on June 9, 10, and 11.

How can I watch the Red Sox Opening Day game?

The game will be available to watch on NESN, either on cable television or streaming on Direct TV or fuboTV. You can also listen to the game on local radio stations WEEI 93.7, WAMG 890 AM and WCCM 1490 AM and on Sirius XM satellite radio.

What happened last season?

Sadly, the Boston Red Sox finished last in A.L. East with a 78-84 record in 2022. Boston was in the playoff hunt until around mid-August when things seemed to take a turn in September, and it was clear the season was over.

Where should I eat before or after the game?
